Your Guide:

Donnie Wood

Donnie is a lifelong flyfisherman since being introduced to the sport by his Uncle John, a master angler and early progenitor of American saltwater flyfishing and spey casting.

Since that summer in 1978 on Colorado’s Conejos River, Wood has spent over four decades pursuing trout all through the Rockies, the Ozark  Mountains, and the Oklahoma waters near his home in Bartlesville. His summers are often spent on the Blue Ribbon waters of the S. Platte and Arkansas Rivers of Colorado where he continues to perfect his craft.

Certifications

Wood is a Certified and Licensed Guide having completed class and field evaluations under Colorado Mountain College’s guide program instructor Tim Hill.

He has guided both public and private waters of the Arkansas River, North Fork of the Arkansas as well as the Headwaters region.

Countless days of his personal time have been spent on the infamous South Platte River, focusing on the canyon stretches of Cheesman and 11-Mile along with the ‘Dream Stream’.

At home, Wood spends his time on the Illinois River, both Upper and Lower sections and the Beaver Tailwater of the White River in Arkansas. There aren’t many regional waters he hasn’t fished in the Ozark Mountains.
